What to Expect
The Salesforce Certified Tableau Desktop Foundations exam costs $200 USD for the proctored exam. Salesforce also offers Trailhead-based credentials at lower price points, but the Tableau Desktop Foundations certification is the full proctored exam. You'll face 40 questions in 90 minutes, giving you roughly 2 minutes and 15 seconds per question. 70% to pass. Salesforce uses a percentage-based scoring model. You'll receive a score report with domain-level breakdown after the exam.
Prerequisites and Audience
No formal prerequisites. Salesforce recommends familiarity with data visualization concepts and basic Tableau Desktop experience. Realistically, you should have spent at least a few weeks building visualizations in Tableau — connecting to data sources, creating calculated fields, building dashboards. If you've never opened Tableau Desktop, start there before studying for the exam. Data analysts, business analysts, and reporting specialists who use Tableau for data visualization. Staying Certified
